What coding to use for a text ticker and where to put it ?

Hi guys,

Ive been trying different types of coding to produce a message ticker for my home page with offers
on it but i keep ending up with the yellow warning triangle ( bottom left IE8 ) warning of reasons
for the page not being displayed correctly ?

Do i have to use java script coding using the source tab on the page data input area on each page
that i want it on or is there another way of using other coding ?

I have reasonable knowledge of html Etc ( no pro ) and wondered if anyone can help myself and
others with some info on this please ?

When you click on the yellow triangle to show the details of the error what does it tell you?

Have a search for jquery tickers.  such as http://www.gcmingati.net/wordpress/wp-content/lab/jquery/newsticker/jq-liscroll/scrollanimate.html

i think this error is due to the fact im using DHTML coding in the data input area on any page or product ( text area with source code button )
