Product selection using query on product database

Newbie installing / redesigning Nopcommerce.

Question:

Is it possible to use a drop down list as query identifier for a database in order to narrow down production selection?
Example http://www.classicadditions.com/index.php?cPath=1_65
Here once the car make is selected, the query returns the make models for further selection.

There is no existing tools to implement that idea. So you need to create some new classes/methods to make it happen. If you don't want to take risk changing nopCommerce integrity, you could build a new small addon project.
