Hello,

When someone enters there email address for subscription they dont receive any confirmation email.

some things to check:

the message queue - did it get sent

did the message end up in the spam folder (or maybe filtered out before it even got that far)

is the message template set as active

did the email address  you tried to subscribe with already exist in the table? (maybe as an already registered user)
