Upgraded from 3.9 to 4.3 now can't edit homepage

I upgraded my site from 3.9 to 4.3 a while ago and now I need to make changes to the homepage. I can edit it in the admin under Content / topics/ homepagetext. But the changes don't show up on the site unless I go to mysite/homepagetext  (which is where the preview takes me) When I go to just mysite.com, it's the old homepage without the updates.

What happened?

My bad ... needed to clear the cache on the site!

I've had that happen a lot when styling, why my changes are not showing up.
