paypal commerce takes around 11-13 to load once it is selected in the checkout flow. checkout/OpcSavePaymentMethod/ is the method. is there anything i can do to make it more responsive? my server is good - i don't think that hardware is the issue. are calls being made to paypal endpoints at this point?
i never have this issue as a customer in other websites.

the issue may be in initial startup after quiescence. i have encountered episodes where l have experienced much faster response.
however, after removing the item, then restarting the purchase and checkout flows, the loading of the payments option page in checkout is slow. once the options page is loaded, paypal payment dialog loads promptly.
nonetheless, over all, performance of loading the payments option page is erratic. so the headline is misleading.
