Always glaze over when reading licenses :-)

I am happy to invest the $50 and purchase the $20 manual. My client will need additional functionality that may require me to modify the existing source and integrate additional sections within the admin area.

Am I allowed to do this in respect of the NOP licence?

Yes. Licence has no restrictions for any kind of customization
