Embed Flash in a product using html editor and upgrade cuestion.

Hello everybody , can i embed an swf file in a product page using the html editor, i tried using swfobject.js without success, i use nop v 1.8.
I can do it in the html editor in the homepage despite of the fact that in this way all the editor dessapear after i put the code.
But when i did it in the page of any product or product variant using the html editor , the editor desappear and the swf file does not appear in the product page.

Another cuestion is about upgrade:
Can i upgrade fron 1.8 to 1.9  using ftp way i dont use visual studio .
