Modify the category page to display the category picture.

Hi i am trying to modify the category template.
1.I want the parent category displayed on the left in a div , control the size.

2.Have the feature products displayed on the right in a div. I want just to display 4 featured products.
Need help on how to dynamically load the category pic when a user click on this specific category menu item  and also displayed 4 of the featured products of this specific category.
