Question About Adding Text Options in 1.5

So we use nopcommerce to sell marketing materials and we need to be able to get info from the customer like information they want shown on there marketing material. the version we have now has a text option which is not ideal but it works. In the 1.5 version the text option is gone. So is there a way to give the customer the option to enter special instructions?

Hi,

This can be done as follows goto Administration

Goto: Catalog > Attributes > Product Attributes

Then create a new Attribute and call it something like Custom Text and then save.

Now you can goto your products you wish to add this feature to,

You can then goto edit the product variant and then select the product variant attributes tab and add a new attribute and select Custom Text and then fill in the Text promt with something like; Enter Text here:, then tick required, then select the textbox control and save.

This should achieve what you want.
