Hi Guys,

My website just went live 2 days back and running v3.8.
I see a lot of fake URL requests coming in from external sources in the logs.

Example below
The controller for path '/abortionpills/category/abortion-pill-dc.aspx' was not found or does not implement IController.

I ignored these since it will obviously throw http 404 error or show the 404 page configured in nopCommerce.

Now I found a problem... these URL's are getting indexed by search engines and started showing up on searches :(

Do let me know if anyone has gone through this issue... and how to address it.

Hi,
The serach engine is probably following these links from some external website and while trying to follow the link on your website is getting 404 because nonexistent.
Another possibility is that these links existed before and for this reason is still attempting to crawl.

Google provides tools to remove links from search results. https://support.google.com/websearch/troubleshooter/3111061?hl=en&visit_id=1-636171694782289078-1948740170&rd=1. They may help you.
