I just installed nopCommerce into goDaddy free hosted domain. Got the confirmation email and I indeed can see the Default.aspx page. But when I try to login as admin for a first time using : mysitename/store/administration/ the page refreshed to http:// mysitename/store/Login.aspx?ReturnUrl=%2fstore%2fadministration%2fdefault.aspx
Ok, here is an update. Watched the youTube manual and realized that I have to use Login.aspx for loggin in as an admin for a first time. Still cannot login using [email protected] and admin.
Thx again
p.s update 2
I also noticed that I have no problem to login as a customer... :(
If I would be able get info I was looking for, I wouldn't post this question. I also said that I'm totally new to online commerce, so little (constructive though) help would be greatly appreciated. This is my first attempt to run the site and move the business to online.
I think when godaddy installs the site it eliminates the admin email and uses the email address/password combo you used when setting up the site. Admin did not work for me either, but the email address I used when setting up the account did. Unfortunately, I couldn't remember which of the dozen passwords I used for that particular email. So I ended up registering another email as a new customer, then going into the site and to my SQL database and made the new customer an admin. Exact steps: First register on your site with a new email address then go to godaddy: my account login to see domains 'hosting' 'manage account' after domain name expand 'databases' 'sqlserver' manage via web admin (copy the user name before clicking on this) enter username, and hopefuly you remember the password for the database nop_customer - click on view at the end of the line. not edit. click on edit for your new email address is_admin put a 1 in the box save your work and then you will be able to use this new email address to access your administration from your store. The reason I couldn't use my original email was because I did not remember the password - That's why I needed to set up a new admin email/password combo. I hope this makes sense. I have discovered many of the responses on this forum assume you know computers inside and out. I think we all ned to make an effort to respond with step by step instructions.
Thank you for outlining steps. Somehow I managed to figured it out myself too. I think we have to create some kind of "sticky" for new users. I took me 3 evenings, but it could be much less.
