Does anyone know whether nopCommerce supports social bookmarking, i.e. links displayed on product pages to add entries to sites such as Delicious, Stumble Upon, etc.
Hi, It's quite easy to implement such a feature yourself - here are some link examples from an xtCommerce Shop on a single product detail page (just do copy/paste into an html-file to get a better look at :-)
which translates the social bookmark from your page to the most common bookmarklists on the web ... so you can shrink all different possibilities to one single link - according the topic above:
I have been scratching my head about this subject for a while now. I did manage to include facebook, digg and delicious on each of my product pages pretty easily.
However most of the code I have found and the code above seems to require you to enter the url you would be "bookmarking/publishing" for each product/page. I'm probably completely wrong about this? But if I'm not this seems like a lot of work. Also I would like the buttons to appear next to the email a friend button as they are have a similar purpose, not in the product description.
So I started thinking...is it possible to use the same function that pulls the url and adds it to the email a friend function, to populate the url of the other social networking links? In other words can I use the same mechanism that creates the link for email a friend and insert it into each of the links using the html above. IE:
Sorry, but you didn't get the purpose of my article. I only wanted to provide an example to insert a product detail page from any shop (in this case surffact) to a social bookmarks collection. The html code should only explain how the request is constructed. It's no copy-paste example to use it in nopCommerce. What you are doing is to place a link to nop product detail page ON the product detail page - it's the same as using the link from the address bar of the browser, but the social bookmark sites won't mention that !
Cheers Stefan.
