Trying to send a Gift Card to a recipient-help

I am trying to send a recipient a gift card. I have filled out form on the $5.00 gift cart in the gift card template
filling out the form below and submitted the order. I have manually paid the order but i never see that the
recipient receives the gift card. Nor does the receiver get a Message with it?

The obvious question - is you smtp server working ? have you setup and tested in the Admin ? Anything in the message que or log file ?

under global settings there is a Gift Cards tab. Under the tab you can select what status the order has to be for the gift card to be active and inactive. Once the order status is at that status the email will be sent to the recipient.
