Re-categorizing products without breaking anything

A current site I manage made the mistake of having a large number of top-level categories.  Is there an easy way to re-categorize products?  I'd like to make the top-level categories very broad ones and then the customers can drill down.

Unfortunately, you'll just have to create the new categories and go through each product.. assigning it to the most relevant one(s).

You could also download your products as CSV and manually do it, then import it again.

There is a plugin available called nopAdmin which might be much quicker, but it's not yet available for 3.90. But I predict it will be, very soon...it was just acquired by another developer.
