Search not showing results for certain strings

Hey Everyone,

I haven't made any changes to the search from the default settings. I have database set to Full-Text and Search Mode is "Using CONTAINS and AND with prefix-term".

My problem is that on my site, when i search "4000", i get results. When i search "4000-D" nothing displays. When i search for items with numbers and hyphens, those come back correctly. What can i do to make the 4000-D return the right items?
