Means to Edit Template Files

Sorry for the sophmoric question....

What platform is used to edit templates provided in NOP 1.6. I would like to be able to open them and tweak if possible.

Best bet would be to download Visual Web Developer Express.  Or visual studio if you have it.

notepad ++ if you know what you are doing.

Express if you need to debug.

also http://www.icsharpcode.net/opensource/sd/ sharp develop is a useful alternative.
