Add a new product specification attribute

I don't quite understand how this works. I can select a specification attribute but the Attribute Option dropdown list is empty?

What populates this?

admin

catalog-->attributes-->product specifications

create an attribute - then click 'add new specification attribute option'

Thanks, but that doesn't help. The "Attribute Option" dropdown is still blank.

strange, did you definately create options for the attribute ??

can you post details of which version you are using?
