I am using godaddy for Nop 1.90 now (NASP.net 4.0) every thing work fine.
I tried to install new Nop 2.30 but can't made it work. If any one know how to config to make NOP 2.30 work on gadaddy hosting (window server ASP.net 4.0)

thank you.

what are the errors your getting? I did notice that i had to create a new database, because the one that godaddy created the first time with 1.9 did not have or does not have remote access set to on / yes.

so i had to create a new database, turn on remote access, then upload manually that way. Just a thought. not sure what your problem or errors are.

I had the exact problem. So far I have had to set up 2.3 in a sub-directory.

You must be on a shared server at GoDaddy.

I would love to hear the solution to installing in the root directory.

Greetings,

I was facing the same problem on my GoDaddy windows deluxe shared hosting plan. The issue was with permissions as godaddy didn't allow to set permissions to root folder.

What I did was installed nopcommerce 2.30 in a sub folder. Assigned all applicable rights (as mentioned in THIS THREAD)...
And then copied back all files to root folder after applying the permissions.

I am not sure if it will work for everyone but it did work for me. Its been stable without any errors for last couple of days.

Intall nopcommerce on godaddy was almost impossible for me if I didn't see this post and read over the one Pratik Shah linked

Pratik is right about the procedure and I just successfully installed version 2.30 on my godaddy economic plan.

Here is my steps on how to install:
1. I create a new sub-directory under my html(root folder) using filezilla, called "nopCommerce".
2. I create a sub-domain under my primary domain using goDaddy's interface. It takes about 5 to 10 minutes to setup. Make sure you point your directory to the newly created sub-dir. In my case, it is "\nopCommerce". Something is quite interesting is that my sub-domain initially doesn't work with the "www." in the front. I had to type just my {subdomain.} + {domain name}. Type it in the browser to see if you get redirected.
3. I delete my existing sql server DB, and create a new DB. Remember to write down your db name and password because you will need it.
4. I use NopCommerce's web intall to upload files to godaddy. Using fileZilla or any ftp client will work too. It is entirely up to your preference. Upload the files to the sub-domain
5. Set up your file permission using godaddy FTP manager. The web panel is quite fast. You can know set permission to your sub-domain and it acted as the primary web app folder.
6. Type in your sub domain URL, and you should see the installation page.
7. Intall it like how you would in your local mahcine.
8. Installation completed, and go to godaddy FTP web panel to move everything under sub-directory to your root folder.

it took me hours to figure out I couldn't see the install page without step 2.

How is your startup time? Does it seem like forever for your site to come up?

When i go to my subdomain.domain.com website, i get 500 (Internal Server) errors. I've set permissions to everything.

Perhaps I haven't uploaded the correct files?

I ran both the Prepare and Deploy scripts successfully.

Any help is appreciated!

Thanks

I have just installed 2.50 on Godaddy sub domain and it worked. Cant get it into root folder at all - keep getting permission errors.

My load time is absolutely horrible though, now wishing Id gone elsewhere for hosting.
