Hey Guys,

Today we’ve opened new international forums. The international forums are a place for speakers of other languages to chat and discuss any nopCommerce topics. You can access them from the forums main page.

I hope it'll make nopCommerce forums more user-friendly for non-English users. But I'm sure that some of these forums won't be quite active. I know it based on Google Analytics statistics. But keeping them is political correctness. On the other hand people from those countries visit our forum, see that there are no users using their own language and decide to move on. What do you think? Does nopCommerce need these forums? Or should we limit the number of supported languages to several most popular languages?

Another question is moderation of these forums. If you're interested in moderating of a forum for your native language and have at least 50 posts on our forums, then please PM me.

UPDATE: After almost two months I see that there weren't real demand for the international forums (unfortunately). There were only about 30 new forum topics created for this period. That's why they were closed today. Maybe, it was not the time, and we'll open them again someday later.

Andrei,

I think this will certainly help in making the nopCommerce community more user friendly and users who can't speak English (or cannot convey their message due to language barrier) will be able to communicate with each other.

Does nopCommerce need these forums?
Answer: I think its a good idea to keep these international forums for now and see how much response these forums are getting. Based on the response rate / number of posts, it will be easier to decide if nopCommerce need these forums or not.

Or should we limit the number of supported languages to several most popular languages?
Answer: I think limiting the number of supported languages to several most popular languages is a good idea because more forums means more maintenance work and supporting more and more languages might lead to spamming. So I guess for now, limiting the international forums to popular languages only is a better idea.

I would limit them to the ten most spoken languages (check Wikipedia) or others when membres of the community require it (like Italian, which they kind of have a forum)

I suggest to keep all added or add more languages if requested, for at least couple of months, and we will see which is most used.

I know of a translation / interpretation service that would compliment nopCommerce perfectly.

How about live support europe-wide!
