Hi,
I've noticed that there is a "Refund (offline)" button for PayPal Standard in NopCommerce. Clicking this button doesn't actually seem to refund the customer at all - it just changes it's status to "Refunded".   Is this the correct behaviour (I presume it is as the button says offline)? Or is there something I can configure to make this button actually refund the order?

Thanks,
Nick

I'm also noticed this. Now I have a customer who needs a refund, I've clicked that button to issue a refund however don't seems like it works. I don't understand if the refund will be initiated via NOP or I would have to manually refund my customer.

Please someone help us understand how this works in PP standard.

I believe the "(offline)" bit indicates that the button doesn't process the refund. You will have to manually process the refund with PayPal/your payment processor outside of NopCommerce. The button is there to mark the payment as refunded in NopCommerce for accurate record keeping.

entith is absolutely right. So if you want to issue a refund, with Paypal Standard, you will have to do it from your Paypal Dashboard.

Generally you can see what operations are allowed by the payment plugin, by going to Admin -> Configuration -> Payment -> Payment Methods. You'll see there a list of all your installed payment plugins, and their capabilities - wether they support Capture, Refund, Void etc (from the nopCommerce admin). If a plugin does not support Refund, for example - the "Refund" button will not appear, only the "Refund (Offline)".

Regards
