create barcode for phone

More and more people are getting smartphones.

And idea would be to get a barcodegenerator, to generate a barcode (QR) for a productsite or any other site for that matter.

Like the activeate a product/category is shown in the admin section, a button saying show barcode.

This will make it easy for people to "write" the link onto their smartphone if they found an offer the wish to save.

I have interest in such application as well. Do you source code of QR code generator? I am seeking one to generate per SKU a code so it can be labelled on products. When a product is broken, a replacement can be ordered directly by scanning the barcode.

I will require:
1. Generation of QR code based on SKU;
2. Adding QR code to site (mobile and regular); not based on SEO link, but on SKU so that on page url change, the product can still be found.
3. Controller to decode the ?SKU=<sku> querystring from the QR code;
4. Functionality to print PDF with a number of QR codes which can be sent to label printer like Dynamo, Zebra;

I believe that netkravler has something different in mind as opposed to what the suggested solutions pose.

Webshops like ours have one foot in the virtual world, and another foot in de physical world. For example our Outlet store displays articles that sell very bad on the internet.

If articles in the physical store would have a QR (2D-code) then that QR code could have a link to the product online. The user could then use any kind of QR scanner to scan the product and navigate to our webshop.

With this usage in mind the nice to have would be an automatic Image QR code generation option inside the product/category editor. That image could then be printed on a label wich in turn is tagged onto the physical product.

I think this is a good feature bu it can also be implemented with a simple plugin.

Once I know how to write a plugin that integrates my editors into the product page I will create ir since we would like this functionality as well.

If there is interest and budget I am willing to develop such module.
