How can I force Nopcommerce to go into installation mode?

I need to make Nop(2.65) go into installation mode - in other words: show the installation page. I tried deleting settings.txt but only got "No database instance" exception. Please advice.

Did you try removing the InstalledPlugins.txt file as well?

Deleting settings.txt is enough. Just do not forget to restart the application

What do I do if there is a settings.txt file and the install screen still appears?

It means that you did something wrong (maybe, forgot to restart the application). Because it won't appear if you have this file. It needs debugging in order to know more info

When you say restart the application, do you mean nopCommerce application or the website provider application?

If you are referring to the nopCommerce, I don't see how I can do that if I can't see the Administration screen of nopCommerce.

If you mean the website application, yes I did do that.

How do i debug this issue?

Save web.config file (without any change). It'll restart the application
