restrict shipping countries

Hallo,

is there a simple method or mechnism to restrict the possible shipping and/or billing countries and filter the selectable coutries in the countries select dropdown?

Countries Admin has "Allows Shipping" & "Allows Billing".

(I'm not sure what you mean by "filter".  When?)

with filtering i meant that one can restrict country selection in the customer registration and checkout dialogs.

I did not know that one can publish countries this way.
