How to search and find manufacturers?

At the moment, Search can look and find only products by keyword. How to search and find manufacturers?

option 1: include manufacturer name into product name (As it's on demo version for the Laptops)
option 2: modify Stored Procedure in database
option 3: post into suggestions to include an option "Availibility to search manufacturers"

I'll go ahead and shamelessly plug our extension of the default search:  Search Rank allows you to not only search against the manufacturer but also allows you to rank how a hit against the manufacturer should work for your product.  Most of our customers rank a manufacturer hit very high because it's the most important search word for their type of products.
