received an email about paypal changing out their ssl implementation to support sha-256. Curious if there's an impact and any changes required to nop to be compliant with this?

I got same email yesterday, no change needed on nopCommerce site, it's all about SSL certificate installation and configuration. Contact with your SSL Certificate provider to make sure that your certificate is not 'VeriSign G2 Root Certificate' and it supports  SHA-256 algorithm.

Can you clarify your question little bit details? If you do 'SSL enabled' from admin, http://www.deadlywind.com/login should redirecte you to  https://www.deadlywind.com/login
