Hello,

I'm having some trouble setting up an email account on a NopCommerce website hosted on SmarterAsp.net.
I enter the credentials then I try to send a test email and all I got is "Failure sending mail".
The thing is, the credentials are correct because I tried them on a NopCommerce test website I host on a personal server.
There are no logs in System > Logs so I have no idea what the problem is.

Does anybody knows if it is a common problem with SmarterAsp and what I can do about it ?

Thank you

Okay I finally got an error message :

Error sending e-mail. Failure sending mail.

System.Net.Mail.SmtpException: Failure sending mail. ---> System.Net.WebException: Unable to connect to the remote server ---> System.Net.Sockets.SocketException: An attempt was made to access a socket in a way forbidden by its access permissions 178.208.39.152:2525 at System.Net.Sockets.Socket.DoConnect(EndPoint endPointSnapshot, SocketAddress socketAddress) at System.Net.ServicePoint.ConnectSocketInternal(Boolean connectFailure, Socket s4, Socket s6, Socket& socket, IPAddress& address, ConnectSocketState state, IAsyncResult asyncResult, Exception& exception)

I googled it, found a couple of  posts about it but nothing seems to work.

Any idea ?

I had same issue, at least I was getting the same exception which has nothing to do with Nop itself its your mail server configuration or your hosting server configuration which may not allow you to connect via port:2525.

If you are sure that address to your mail server 178.208.39.152:2525 is correct you may need to ask SmarterAsp admin to confirm whether its accessible from their domain.

Hope that helps

It was indeed a SmarterAsp problem, the staff told me how to open the outgoing port and now it works

Thanks :)
