I guess in 1.7version there should be some improvements in the blog:

1) There should be categories so when admin is posting something , there should be check-boxes that gives category names like (technology, science , history, general etc - these categories should be added by the admin) , and there should be a column on right side of blog page where all the categories will be displayed which makes easy for the website visitor to filter posts

2) On the right column there should be months displayed of the current year so that anyone can see posts according to specific months also

3) on the right column it should display recent comments too that were posted on the blog along with the username

4) Enabling TAGS feature with each blog entry, so that visitors can filter blog entires with TAGS

There is an open-source web application "blogenginer.net" which is really good, i guess nopCommerce team should get some idea from there and implement those things in nopCommerce 1.6 version , it will make nopCommerce blog feature to stand with famous blogging websites.

Just for the information: BlogEngine is recommended by microsoft, : http://www.microsoft.com/web/gallery/BlogEngine.NET.aspx

so i guess using blogengine.net as a reference is a good and safe way of extending nopCommerce blog features

There are some that might not think this funny, but....
... if such features DO continue to get updated, even if not quite to the level of BlogEngine.Net, NopCommerce might find itself to be a very capable solution for implimentation outside of just commerce.      Understanding that it's not competeing with solutions like Mojo, SiteFinity, Community Server, etc...  I can see application of NopCommerce in some "community" senarios where a "marketplace" is secondary in purpose.
NopCommerce has a wonderful architecture.   The upcoming utilization of Entity Framework will only strengthen that.

On a side note:  Does there yet exist a marketplace within the NopCommerce community for users to donate/sell pluggable modules/controls they've developed, extending NopCommerce?

Is this functionality something you would be willing to pay for?

Hi,

Is there some news about new blog features ?

Blog categories, menu, related products, all of these are really missing now.
