Map all your discounted products to a hidden subcategory "Discounted" and then set a discount to all products of that category

Yes you can.

This thing done with two approach.

First approach -

If you have a time than create one discount select assign to product as discount type.

You see one tab assign to product in which you have to add products.

After your discount is configured.

Second approach
-

Another approach is same tecnofin said in earlier message.

In this you have to select assign to category as discount type.

ok,
it didnt work.

here are the steps i have done:
1. i have created unpublished sub-category
2. added to it all items that are in "sale"
3. created a test code that works for all category except the one i have created
4. marked all categories to work with this code except the new category.

than entered to a regular category on the site that has mixed items (regular and on sale).

and new code applied to all items including the one that was on already on sale.

did i miss something?

thx guys

Hello,

I think you have to publish this category.

Because unpublished category not allowing apply discount.

So,it should be publish if you don't want to display in top menu than uncheck from category detail in admin side.

Hope you will understand..!!

I guess sk5202 is right. If you have a sand box test it there with the Discount category published . Another option is to set it as published and map it under (as a sub-category of)an unpublished category. I hope it works
