Putting search bar in Nivo Slider

I'm attempting to do a couple things I haven't been able to find answers to anywhere at all. I appologize if these questions have already been answered, please link the posts if they have! Thanks!

So firstly, I need to move my search bar from the left header location to the very middle of my Nivo Slider on the main screen, or at the very least move it to the middle of a single "main image" on the main screen. Something like this:

Second is an easy one, hopefully. I just need to know how to change the placeholder text in the search bar from "search store" to something different.

I'm very new to this environment but I'm learning fast. Thank you for any and all advise you can possibly offer.

Hi,

First change will require you to do some custom programming using CSS. If I would be doing it, I would move search box using its CSS positioning on top of the image. Or I would replace Nivo Slider with Search box and style it like what you want. This would be more elegant.

Second, To change the placeholder text in the search bar, go to Admin panel==>Configuration==>Language==> choose the language you're using and change its string resource. The resource name for search is 'search.searchbox.tooltip'. Similarly, you can change any label throughout the site without changing source code.

Hope that helps.

Thanks & Best Regards,

Thank you for your reply, I use your theme and plugins for another website :)

That's what I'm having trouble with, I'm not sure where the .cshtml file is for the nivo slider itself/pictures, where I would put the CSS code in the .cshtml file, and what CSS code I would put in.

I would be fine with just replacing the nivo slider with a picture and search box but again I'm not sure where I would put the CSS and what CSS code I would put in.

If you're wondering why I have so little knowledge my tech person is no longer with me so I'm trying to learn as I go. Thank you so much for your patience.

Thank you for the placeholder text info!
