Hi Everyone ,
i have question regarding hardware requirements for the latest version , i found what software needed, but nothing about hardware. I am talking about for run-time .
in case of development you know what needed as VS, SQL server has that requirements specification .

I have talked with several people , and none have idea ! some saying 2gb ram good, some saying 4 gb required . some smartly saying we recommended 8 gb to our clients.
i have talked with experts, partners, contributes and finally hosting company , more or less same word try with small then add more, more ram more speed !!.

honestly its very much hard condition to select , i am trying for 500 products and approx 2 K visitor/mo , what i need? any one have idea , any reference link will be great . i have limited budget and i also know page load time can kill .
anyone can help me to find balance plan .
i have check godaddy vps , A2 shared ( their support recommending vps)

hope you guys can help me on making decision

This question is tricky because all depends on basically the traffic (number of concurrent visitors at peak times) and in a lesser extent  the number of products with their images and the size of these images.

We always use VPS. and 4G of RAM and 80G of Disk  as a thumb rule are enough to host 4 to 5  small stores with less than 1000 products and less than 10 K visitors per month (+/- 3 concurrent visitors at peak time). Take into consideration that about 50% (2G and 50G respectively) of those resources is taken by Windows and SQL. The same VPS (4G and 80G) can host  one store with 10K products and 200K visitors per month (100 concurrent). Besides we also use CloudFlare which helps to cope with traffic and to speed response times.

If we are talking of v4.1  according to Microsoft the demand of computing resources will be much less

Just reviving this thread.  As 4.2 is out and is much more snappy,  I'm looking to find dedicated hosting for a single site with approximately 300-500 products and no more than 10 visitors at anyone time maximum (usually 2 or 3).  Would 2Gb of memory be sufficient or would 4 or even 6 be needed?

Hi. a Customer site has 12000 total products, 5000 published.
Looking at pool log i see these message "a worker process serving application pool 'xxxxxx-003' has requested a recycle because it  reached its private bytes memory limit" many times per day.

How many mbyte ram do you think is needed to avoid restart?
