Top menu too long

I am using NOP 4.1.
I have about my main categories that each has about 30 subcategories. Problem is that once I hover over a category in the top menu it shows a very long subcategory menu which I have to scroll to bottom of page to view all items and most of the times while I try it closes.
Why it does not show the subcategories next to each other?

We have a plugin that may solve your problem. If you take a look at the Mega Menu Plugin, you will see that it offers a variety of menu layouts. You can limit the subcategories number and get a View More link, or you can arrange the subcategories in Grid with or without pictures. Also if you like you can create custom menu links with dropdowns in which you can arrange the categories you want to be shown and add as much information as you want to. The plugin has a free trial version and you can try setting up a menu without the obligation of purchasing the product if you are not satisfied with the way it works.
