Hello,
Our shop has digital products which are customized once customers buy them, and then sent by email afterwards. I tried many things, but it seems that currently this scenario is not supported.
On the one hand, if I set a product as deliverable, then the shop asks for the delivery address, which is unnecessary and confuses users, as the product won't actually be phisically delivered.
On the other hand, if I set the product as not deliverable, the order is automatically set to Complete status as soon as customers make the payment, which also confuses them, because they think the digital product has already been sent. Moreover, it makes it harder for us to track, as we have to register which orders have been sent or no using a different tool.
Downloadable products don't work either, as our digital products are always customized for each customer with their own data.
Ideally, product would be set as deliverable, but with a kind of digital delivery. That way, when product is purchased, shipping address should not be requested during checkout (customer email will be the recipient where to deliver it), and once payed, the order should be kept in status "In Progress" until we actually send it by email, moment when we will manually mark it as delivered, and then automatically changed to "Complete".
Is that something we can achieve with current version? If not, is it in the roadmap? Anyone with a solution for this?
Than you very much in advance!!!
Regards,
-Andy
