A good “how to” for writing a plugin with menus and pages in the “My Account”?

Can anybody point me to an example or writeup on how writing a plugin with menus and pages in the “My Account”?
I know an answer might be out there, but I have not found it..

Versions: nopCommerce Version 4.2 and Visual studio 2017

I have reasonably wide programming experience, but newbe to MVC / .Net Core, but a basic knowledge on the concepts involved to write a plugin. C# is also fairly new to me.

I have read both the developers guide in the documentation and searched through the forums. Many good tips, but I really need some kind of recipe…

I find the free plugins useful, but either they are to complex for my level, or to simple.
