paypal is not defined

when i go to product detail pages on my site, the following error is generated in the console.  i am using the PayPal Commerce module - not sure if there is a connection. Is there a cause and solution?

uninstalling and reinstalling did not work.
on the other hand, i only see the error in google search console tests. i assume that the errors appear in the debugger console but i don't see them when i access the urls.
