Hello, I have a quick question,

My client is requesting that her store pictures be disabled from copying and saving on left click with the mouse.
I know how to do this with regular html sites but was wondering if it is possible with the nop software.

If needed the store url is here http://www.silverdaisydesigns.com/store

Thanks

Mike

There is no way to make publically available information (web sites) not viewable by the public.

You can make it more difficuilt, but not fool proof. You could disable right click for example, but then the user could look at the source.

If the information is sensitive you could use a SWF to display the image by passing the ID of the image to the swf. You see this sort of thing on tattoo stores, however someone could still print screen and get the image that way.

Like I said, not much you can do here except make it more difficuilt.

Yes I realize that this is the scenario. You could easily take a screenshot as well. This is a customer request and I have mentioned this to them however they feel that they would like to have this in their site and sometimes its hard to explain things to customers. I just need to know if this is able and how to implement it properly.

Hi, thanks for all the response. I know ways of doing this however I do not know how to implement it into NOP. I am wondering how you go about adding that javascript into the coding. I am not a heavy aspx man.

Basically i just need to know which files to edit.

The easiest place to put it would be in Root.Master - all pages on the front use this so it will ensure right click is disabled across all pages.

This is such a stupid idea.....If people really want the image they are going to get it THERE IS NO WAY OF PROTECTTING YOUR IMAGES, if people can see the image then they can get the image. Get over it and move on.....or DONT USE THE INTERNET.

Skiltz, you are 100% correct. However, you know you can't tell the client they are being stupid - as much as you would like to. The best you can do is tell them that its a bad idea !
