Location - State / Province

Hi all,
I wouldn't like to have displayed State / Province in customer registration form. Anyone knows the best way how to get rid of it?

Yes, I am using 1.5 version. And what I would like to do, when customer fills in his shipping details, Name, address.....Country and State/Province. I don't want the drop down menu "State and Province" in the form.
