Hello:

I´m having trouble with installing a new instance of nopcommerce 2.2 that uses an existing database.

1. So I upload the deployment folder contents after running the bat
2. The app installation page appears on the folder, so the app seems to be working fine..
3. Upload the Settings.txt file, with the database connection string, to the app_data folder

And then it does not work. What am I doing wrong?? where should i put the file????

You are right, Setting.txt files goes in "App_Data" folder.

Could you please be more specific when you say "it does not work"

What error message you get ?

P.S. Please make sure you are using 2.2 database that you are trying to link in connection string "Setting.txt"

I mean the install page comes up again, as if the settings.txt file was not there. I´m trying to rebuild the app on the hosting now to see if that´s the problem.

Yep, what happens is that even with the settings.txt file present on the app_data folder the app is returning to the installation page.

I tried to click on the link that says restart iinstallation and i get this:

Make sure you also add the InstalledPlugins.txt file. Once both the Settings.txt and InstalledPlugins.txt exist then you should restart the application.

The weird character issue is a separate problem and can be resolved by reviewing the link abcd_1234 provided.

Hi, thanks for the help, added both files, loooking into the character issue at the moment.

Many thanks.

Ok manually I applied the changesets to fix the character issue.

I uploaded the new "deployed.bat" app and added two files to the app_data, settings.txt and installedplugins.txt.

BUT!, The app keeps redirecting me to the installation page even with those files present.

I also added resources.xsd as I found out tha file was there on my local app... NADA...

Any ideas??

Are you sure you're uploading to the correct server?  Try to ping your domain name and see if it matches with the ip address of the server you're trying to FTP the files to.
