Hi everyone,

According to the Features List "Each vendor could be provided with an administrator panel access to manage their products, review sales reports and order details regarding their products. Vendors do not interfere with each other's activity."

I have downloaded the software (ver. 3.20) and I am looking for the vendor admin panel which provides access to each vendor to manage his products. Could anyone tell me where can I find this vendor panel?

Regards

Hi,

do you see the Administration link in the top, when you login as vendor?

Hi,

thanks for your reply, but I don't understand your question. How can I login as a vendor? In the Admin panel I don't an option to login as vendor.

You need to create a Vendor first. If its created, then just use the same login page to log into the site. A vendor can access admin panel with the limited rights which you can configure in Access Control Lists.

Hi,

Thanks all for your replies, and yes jariwalakrunal it worked that way.

So, it looks like the steps are as follows.

1. manually create the Vendor in the Administration panel,
2. connect an existing Customer as the Vendor's manager (i.e. through Customer's profile),
3. assign the role of Vendor to this Customer, again from Customer's profile.
4. provide the link of Admin Panel to this Customer.

If I am not missing something in the process above, my comments are as follows.

I would prefer not to have to manually create a Vendor, because this could become time consuming and error prone in large organisations. I guess a Customer should have an option in "My Account" to apply for becoming a Vendor. The Customer then fills in a form and submits it, thus all table connections are done at this stage. Upon approval from the Store Manager, the Customer gains access to the Admin panel from a link in "My Account" section.

I hope this helps and could be considered for the next release or so.

I am getting the following error Add the customer to 'Guests' or 'Registered' customer role

okay My Mistake

A vendor is a special type of Customer...so he has to be a Guest or Registered along with that he can be Vendor and etc etc
