Since WebHost4Life and AppliedInnovation are featured on nopCommerce's Website, is it safe to say that they are the best hosting company for nopCommerce? Why not other hosting companies?

I am in process of setting up a nopCommerce Website and would like find the best hosting company. Obviously, I definitely need your help since you have already been using nopCommerce.

Thank you,

One of the reason behind hosting a website that is based on nopCommerce with these hosting companies is :

Any website that is based on nopCommerce requires full trust on the server's side, as many features in nopCommerce doesn't work in Medium Trust Level :

# Export/Import customers (Excel) - doesn't work in medium trust
# Export/Import products (Excel) - doesn't work in medium trust
# Export orders (Excel) - doesn't work in medium trust

So the hosting companies that nopCommerce is recommending provides Full Trust Level so that you won't face any problem in using different features of your website that requires full trust level. (As many hosting companies doesn't provide Full trust level)

Second reason
is going for a hosting company that provides a 99.9% of uptime, that is another reason why nopCommerce is recommending these 2 hosting companies.

Hope it helps....

Thanks

I tried to host my nopcommmerce site with WebHost4Life but had terrible problems with the SQL Server interface provided. Every time I made a change the database would disappear from the list on the server or would not accept logins. Support tickets took around 12-24 hours to be responded to and up tp 72 hours for problems to be resolved (although most were attended to within 24 hours). The initial support contacts have only basic knowledge, takes time to get to someone at a reasonable technical level. The access problems were corrected only to occur again the next time changes were made. Also the SQL interface is very limited in operation. Eventually I had to take the 30day money back offer and abandon WebHost4Life.
I found a very good host called WebHostsAustralia and as my domain is Australian this suits me. Although a little more expensive than budget hosts, they have marvelous support response times from very competent technicians who are english speaking and not located at a remote call centre. I had a few initial problems when initialising the site but they were dealt with very promptly! I can totallly recommend WebHostsAustralia as a very reliiable host!

I can recommend Arvixe (www.arvixe.com). Great services, full trust, economical and fast. Very happy after moving there from GoDaddy.

Don't just look at the trust level that nopCommerce requires full trust for import/export excel (for instance), I have a medium trust host and they have added exceptions for some functionality so excel (import/export) works just fine on my host.

What's important must be the response time to a support ticket and the uptime, send the host your are considering to use some questions and see how long time it takes for them to reply, that will give you a first indication of the support you can expect from that hostingcompany. I have excluded many companies based on this, if they don't show any intrest in you as a potential customer you can forget support when you are one.

My answer is NO!.
From June to July we hired webhost4life in an annual host plan. My experience with them was terrible. On june we experienced slow web access, which WH4L responded to an internal migration, then improved the speed. Then I got caught in a loop which administrative "specialist" technician could not get out. I finally got sick of it. They assured me the return of the agreed annual and US35 discounting in respect of account opening. Right now (07/302010 12:45 pm) I'm doing the migration to SoftsysHosting.com. No complain till now. I hope for better luck!
