Regarding your question's answer.

You can update the resource string values to change 'Manufactures' to 'Designers'

Please following these steps.

Go to Admin Panel -> Configuration -> Languages

Here is the admin demo site's URL.
http://admin-demo.nopcommerce.com/Admin/Language/Edit/1

Click on edit button for specific language( here in your case it is English)
There are two tabs Info and String Resources
Go to String Resources tab.
You can search it by Resource Name OR by Value. Update value and then see if it worked by refreshing your site (If not worked, try to clear the browser's cache also)
