Hi , not sure if this post is in the right forum so excuse me if not.

Has anyone modified the existing nopCommerce application for local point of sales application? In other words as we are wanting to sell items on the web, we also want to sell the same items in a local store. The main issues seem to be that we do not need to capture customer billing/shipping etc information on checkout and we would like to integrate bar code scanners, receipt printers and credit card swipe devices. Has anyone done this or could recommend a third party pos application?

Thanks for help.....

Hello, I am evaluating different e-commerce solutions right now, as I want to upgrade my online shop. One of the things I am looking for is a POS or Point of Sales solution. Is this on the road map?

I dont think its on the roadmap for version 2.00 (Roadmap can be found here http://nopcommerce.codeplex.com/workitem/list/advanced?ProjectName=nopcommerce). What kind of functionality are you looking for? It may be that nopCommerce can do most of what you need it to with only a little modifications.

If you are looking to integrate with third party POS software, then that is a bigger issue! I have been working on a few projects where an ecommerce solution has been integrated with on-premise accounting, stock management and POS systems but this is not functionality offered out of the box (apart from QuickBooks integration).

I hope this helps,

Chris

Hello,

First: thanks for the quick answer(s)!
Second: about the POS: something like what is integrated in the ERPLY (for example) solution would be wonderful.
Extra/idea: why not doing 'more or less' the same as erply by adding an inventory, relationship and pos solution?

Thanks for this, but I am wondering if this offer is still good? The other question I have is... aside from email support, is there a live chat or telephone support available for things like setup, technical, or billing issues? Thanks.
