paypal configuration problem

after installing and setting up paypal plugin, the configuration page shows the following error:
An error occurred during the onboarding process, the credentials are empty ( and no, there is nothing in the logs).

the documentation does not match my experience. when i clicked on the Signup for PayPal button, i was taken to a page to sign up for Maz something. after logging in and paypal doing whatever it did, i returned to configuration with the above error. plugin version 4.80.16.

i think i figured out the problem. after logging into paypal, you have to go to your paypal account to stay logged in. then on the nopcommerce page, refresh.

to correct the original problem, revoke access - click the button and start all over again.

and if you are using cloudflare security, you may need to disable the waf rules to save the configuration changes. not sure why but it is another pain in the butt working with all of these systems.
