How to change formatting for the Pager?

The control : <nopcommerce:pager runat="server" id="catalogPager" . .
makes the pager appear like this :

Page 1 of 3 (24 total) 1 2 3 Next

I would like to change the formatting of the elements but can't find where they are.
I would like to change the " (24 total)" to " (24 total items)" but can't even find the word "total".

I'm looking in the \Libraries\Nop.Controls\Pager.cs file, but can't find where it is.

In Administration > Content Management > Localization, edit resource string named: Pager.CurrentPage

Its default value is "Page {0} of {1} ({2} total)"

.
