Hide subcategory thumbnail images

hi,

I have these categories in my leftmenu:

Category 1
Subcategory 1.1
Subcategory 1.2
Category 2

When I click on Category 1, Subcategories thumbnail images are displaying.
How can I display product from subctegories 1.1 and 1.2 directly by clicking on Category 1 instead of subcategories thumbnail images?
