Steps for upgrading to nosource 2.0

I am currently trying to upgrade from nosource 1.9 to 2.0 and have ran into some problems. I have tried moving the settings file and putting in the connection string during install and in the settings file, but have not had any luck. I do not have Microsoft Visual. What are the exact steps to needed to upgrade.
