Will be posible to upgrade nopcommerce with Azure support unofficial modified version 1.40 to version 2.20+

I needed Azure support on nopcommerce.
I was urged and can't wait anymore and decided to download and use the unofficial version 1.40 modified for Azure available at Codeplex. Indeed, the nopcommerce team member Andrei Mazoulnitsyn sugested to one user to use it in a post of topic "nopCommerce Running on Azure".
My question is:
Will be posible to upgrade nopcommerce with Azure support unofficial modified version 1.40 to version 2.20+ (when Azure support is scheduled as you said in a post in News and Announcements) or it will be a mess for me?
