Administration tab not working

I just installed version 2.1 from source.  I set up the site and am able to log in as admin.  I see the administration link at the top of the page, click it and get the following error:

"We're sorry, there is no Web page matching your request.

It's possible you typed the address incorrectly, or that the page no longer exists. In this case, we profusely apologize for the inconvenience and for any damage this may cause. "

With the following URL:

http://mywebsite/filenotfound.htm?aspxerrorpath=/administration

I checked via FTP and there is no Administration folder in the deployed application.  Do I have to tweak the build to ensure the admin files are included?  Is there another reason why I can't get into the admin dashboard?

Ok, I deployed the 'without source code' download from the site and it seems to have fixed it.  It doesn't explain what you need to do with the source code to build and deploy it properly though
