Hi all,
is there any way of getting the system to search on any part of the product name/title
Currently unless I search on the full product name I get zero results back

Please can anyone help here?

Thanks!

I do not understand exactly what you mean. If you refer to searches in frontend searches are made by any words, fragments of words and phrases included in product name (and/or descriptions if such option is selected in advanced search). For instance in demo sho`p make a search with "sho" and you will get products that have that fragment in their names such as shoe, Photoshop. If you then in advanced search you select "Search In product descriptions" then you will get more results (products that have that fragment in their descriptions)

Hi,
My search isnt working like that at all.
For example, I have a product, 'Tetley String and Tag 100's '
If I search for 'Tetley String' the search works because its the 2 first words of the product.
However, If I try and search for 'Tetley Tag 100's ' the search brings back '0' results

try it: http://ukbusinesssupplies.co.uk/search.aspx?searchterms=Tetley+00%27s+

Doesnt make any sense. The search results should pick up any combination of the search terms right?

Thanks for the help!

Yes it is working like I told you. Try a search with "string" (it is not the first word) or "ring" (it can be a fragment of a word).

Your example refers to   a search of  non-contiguos words. For that you need Full Text Search. Check in the threads pointed by Andrei
