Show Products from all subcategories at once?

Is there a way or can there be a option to show all products from each subcategory if needed or clicked? If I have 25 subcategories I would like the shopper to be able to see all the products in the subcategory, as well as be able to browse by subcategory also. I know I can add the products to both categories now, but it throws the numbers off.
