v 2.40 Add to cart - featured products on home page

I have a featured product on the homepage.
When I press 'Add to cart' it takes me to the details view - instead of adding to cart.

Items in the bestsellers list on the same home page - the Add to cart button works as expected.

Any item on the bestsellers list work as expected.

Help would be appreciated.

You're redirected to the product details page because this product has a product attribute ("Firmware"). It should be chosen by a customer (and it's possible only on the product details page)
